Work permits are issued in different categories, each with its own rules and regulations, advantages and disadvantages. Permission to enter the UK to work is granted for a limited period by a division of the Home Office. The work permit is granted to the employer in the United Kingdom to employ a foreign national. The foreign national will then need to take their work permit document and apply for an entry clearance visa to enter the U.K. There are a number of schemes which operate for example training and work experience schemes, sports and entertainment work permits, student internship work permits.
